When writing a cover letter/em>, the first paragraph tells the employer why you are writing. You may include the name of a shared personal contact, if someone has referred you or recommend that you contact the person or company.
You can also include your college and current status and a short sentence on why you feel you are the ideal candidate for the internship/job.
When writing a application letter for an Architecture position the middle paragraphs allow you to explain to the organization/company what you’ve got to offer.
Start off by stating you’re involvement with the Architecture Industry. Specify the names of organizations you’ve held positions with and ts duration. Briefly mention your qualifications and work experience in networking, systems engineering, and security as suitable to the positions requisites.
List some of your responsibilities and describe how it’s relevant to the work you are applying for. If necessary, write a minute anecdote to emphasize a point or a skill relevant to the Architecture position.
List a few of your personal qualities that makes you stand out. Include any internship experiences, coursework certifications, language or tool skills, volunteering, or co-curricular activities, etc. Be specific and describe to the company how you skills will suit the company’s needs.
The last paragraph will describe how and when you will follow up. It is your responsibility to follow up unless the internship/job description specifically states no phone calls or email follow up.
If emailing your documents, follow-up is usually 24 – 48 hours; if sending documents by mail follow up is usually in one week.
